‘Fargo’ season 2 trailer: See Nick Offerman, Kirsten Dunst, more in first lengthy preview
Over the past week and a half we have seen a variety of different previews for “Fargo” season 2, but they have all been around ten seconds or so and feature almost nothing that is substantial when it comes to the actual story.
This is what makes the new trailer different. This is the first substantial footage that FX has unveiled for the new season, and it makes it very clear that there is quite a bit to look forward to in between the accidents, the era (around the time that Ronald Reagan is working on his Presidential run), and also the cast. The show is featuring everyone from Kirsten Dunst to Nick Offerman to Patrick Wilson and Ted Danson, and they all seem perfect for the role. Offerman in particular you may not recognize at first; he has facial hair almost everyone but under his nose. Changes!
The story for the season revolves around a series of murders that rock a small community; while the trailer is for the most part lighter in tone, we don’t imagine the show being that way all of the time. There was some darkness and some solemn moments in the first season, mostly as it explored what can cause a seemingly good person to turn and become something monstrous. That season was superb, and its cast (including Martin Freeman and Billy Bob Thornton) was recognized heavily for their efforts.
One thing that this trailer fails to do is mention a specific premiere date. As we mentioned yesterday, though, the premiere date was seemingly pushed back after early promos suggested that it would be in September.
