Teen Choice Awards 2015: Jensen Ackles, Misha Collins, Grant Gustin, Candice Patton vie for ‘chemistry’ prize

There are few other awards shows that have a “Choice TV: Chemistry” category like the Teen Choice Awards do, and this should be a rather fun race to watch. After all, there are so many different ways to define chemistry in TV terms, and the nominees include everything from family to friends to lovers to friends that people wish would become lovers. It’s a really interesting group of people, and we’re not entirely sure who is going to walk away with the prize here.

We’re going to continue to highlight an individual Teen Choice Awards category! Be sure to come back for that on an almost-daily basis. You can also vote for your personal favorite in this category below. We’re going to keep track of the results, and then share who are the CarterMatt winners for this a little bit later before the awards air on August 16.

The nominees

Jensen Ackles and Misha Collins, “Supernatural”

Trai Byers, Bryshere “Yazz” Gray, Taraji P. Henson, Terrence Howard and Jussie Smollett, “Empire”

Johnny Galecki, Jim Parsons, Kaley Cuoco-Sweeting, Simon Helberg, Kunal Nayyar, “The Big Bang Theory”

Kat Graham and Ian Somerhalder, “The Vampire Diaries”

Grant Gustin and Candice Patton, “The Flash”

Ross Lynch and Laura Marano, “Austin & Ally”

Who will win – To us, this is really between the three CW shows, who all have passionate followings (the network is also a frequent Teen Choice Awards winner). We really feel like the awards did “Empire” and “The Big Bang Theory” a disservice by lumping a ton of people together into one group, mostly because it is a little less tangible. We’re going to say that Kat and Ian are probably the favorites, mostly because of the way “The Vampire Diaries” has dominated the show in the past.

Who should win – Seeing an acceptance speech from Jensen and Misha for this would be incredible, and we really want to see it win just for that alone. Still, we’d also be thrilled if Grant and Candice won, mostly because “The Flash” is amazing and Barry and Iris’ relationship developed really well at the end of season 1.
