‘Bachelor in Paradise 2’ spoilers: A ‘mystery woman’ and other premiere details

The premiere episode of “Bachelor in Paradise” is coming in just a few short weeks, but it’s never too early to start to prepare, right? There are going to be surprises almost right out the gate starting with the show’s August 2 premiere, where there will be a “mystery woman” who comes out as a contestant. The synopsis below offers up some details:

“Welcomed by Chris Harrison, the cast quickly gets acquainted at a Bachelor-style cocktail party on the shores of Playa Escondida. The mood changes quickly when the Mystery Woman enters Paradise, and the cast is shocked to learn who she is. Breaking the tension, Chris Harrison interrupts to explain the rules of Paradise and one shocking twist. This week, the men will hand out a rose to someone they’d like to spend more time getting to know and the women who do not receive roses will have to leave Paradise forever. Then, he informs the group he has one more surprise in store.”

The first feeling that we should state on this subject is simply that the whole idea of a “mystery woman” being a big deal is probably overblown. If it was a former cast member, wouldn’t the show be trying to promote it? We’re probably just looking at a smaller twist that won’t be that impactful to the rest of the season; hopefully, it is at least different from when “Bachelor Pad” decided to bring on contestants who were never on the original show, including those two twins who just caused there to be all sorts of fighting.

Many of the cast members you see in the photo above will arrive early in the competition, but it’s not going to be the entire cast. You will find out more on this over time.
