‘Fargo’ season 2 promo: Someone is wasting perfectly good syrup
It is only fitting that on the same day as the Primetime Emmy Awards nominations are announced, we are talking about a show like “Fargo” … even if it is only just ten seconds of it.
This is a show that, if you had forgotten, was simply not eligible for an award this season since there was no season on the air in the nomination window. It is a similar situation to “True Detective,” which will probably get some love next year even though the reviews have not been as kind in comparison to season 1.
We can sum up this new “Fargo” promo with a fairly simple message: Someone has shot a perfectly good bottle of syrup! Who in the world would want to do that? The only reasonable guess we can muster is that someone wanted the real maple syrup and they got stuck with the sugary stuff that you can buy for two bucks at the grocery store.
Yet … we digress. “Fargo” season 2 premieres this September, and it will feature a story that is set many decades before season 1. It will be a time when the country is recovering from war, but there will be yet another battle happening at home and one of the most terrible cases to ever hit the region. Lou, who Keith Carradine played in the first season, will be one of the main characters here. We’re going back in time, but many of the same sort of characters will be present. This is a show that knows what work, so why change it much?
