Is ‘The View’ close to hiring another co-host?
Typically, “The View” spends several weeks during the summer having to deal with rumors about who is going to be joining their show for the upcoming season.
Not long after the news was revealed that Michelle Collins was being brought on in an official capacity, the news now is that Paula Faris, otherwise known as the weekend co-anchor for “Good Morning America,” is in discussions to have a larger role on the show. There is no word just yet as to if this will be a permanent hire for the panel; The Hollywood Reporter notes that she could just be part of some sort of rotating panel of people to appear on the series. If she does join permanently, she, Raven Symone, and Collins will be joining Whoopi Goldberg and Nicole Wallace on the series moving forward.
The biggest thing when it comes to “The View” at this point really needs to be chemistry, and getting people who intend to stay rather than just people who may be using this as a platform to accelerate their career. We’re not saying that anyone has gone into this with that intention, but we feel like they have been burned at times by focusing on certain things in the search for new panelists. We’d rather have more unfamiliar people who become a good group together.
“The View” will be going on a summer hiatus in a matter of weeks, but will return once again in September to bring you more of what the show is known for: News items and big opinions. Stay tuned for more.
