‘The Last Ship’ season 2 spoilers: Is a wedding-of-sorts coming in the near future?

In some ways, it is pretty hard to envision much in the way of serious romance on a show like “The Last Ship,” mostly because just trying to stay alive is inevitably going to be the primary thing on everyone’s mind.

However, at the same time you do start to realize that relationships are important, and sometimes they are one of the few things worth fighting for. We’re actually surprised that there are not more of them that form over time, given that when there is not an apocalypse, there are so many other things to cling to in life. This is something fundamental and in some ways pure.

For all the romantics out there, this show does have Danny and Kara, and it looks like a wedding could happen this season! However, don’t expect them to have a giant traditional wedding (or at least as traditional as one can have aboard a Navy ship), since that idea has already been scrapped as a possibility. Here is what creator Hank Steinberg had to say on the subject to Entertainment Weekly:

“It did not survive on the [writers’ room] board, but that doesn’t’ mean they’re not gonna get married … It’s just not going to be that way.”

Let’s just hope that this wedding takes place before we get to the finale, mostly because we’ve already heard a thing or two about how there is going to be some sort of epic cliffhanger that takes place around that time. We don’t really want it to be about something devastating a.k.a. ripping apart a couple.
