‘Community’ season 7: Dan Harmon furthers along movie talk vs. new episodes
At this particular point in time, it is starting to look more and more like the future of “Community” is going to be much more in the form of a movie than anything else. There are so many different factors working against the show coming back to Yahoo for another season, and everyone seems to be aware of that.
The man at the very front of all of this is none other than the show’s own executive producer in Dan Harmon. Speaking per TVLine while promoting “Rick & Morty” at San Diego Comic-Con, the show creator made it clear that both he and Yahoo are on the same page now that a movie may be the most feasible future path for the show. The cast is no longer under contract, and while he may have been able to round up a few select people for another season, a movie down the road may be the best way to get the majority of people together for something great.
With that said, it doesn’t seem like there is a quick timetable for it to happen. Harmon seems content with letting some of them spread their wings, and then come back to work on something.
We know that for us, we’d like to see a project that happens at some point down the road, and actually allows the entire cast to be a part of it. Hopefully that means that you can get Donald Glover and Yvette Nicole Brown back yet again, and maybe even get some cameos from people like John Oliver and Jonathan Banks. Chevy Chase is a little more of a touchy subject; given that Pierce is dead, you wouldn’t be able to see much of him in the present, anyway.
