‘Once Upon a Time’ season 5 spoilers: Meet Merida from ‘Brave’

There is still one more massive “Once Upon a Time” teaser that we have not reported yet from today’s San Diego Comic-Con panel, and this one does have to deal with a new character rather than someone we already know. The series is tapping into the Disney well yet again, and introducing their version of Merida, the female lead in the Pixar movie “Brave.” This character fits well into their universe already, and we could see her being a traveler through the Enchanted Forest.

As for who will be playing her, Entertainment Weekly reports that Amy Manson (“Being Human”) is going to play this part. She feels right for the role upon first look, provided that they have a grown-up version of this character. There are still many questions worth pondering here, though, with one of the largest ones being how in the world they will have time to give her much attention. Think for a minute here about some of the other new additions: King Arthur, Guinevere, and Merlin are coming aboard, and you are also going to see the return of Lancelot at least in flashbacks.

We still also want to throw out there that there are other characters we are still hoping to see again on the show that have vanished as of late. Take, for example, Mulan, Archie, Cinderella, Red, or Dr. Whale. These are all people with stories left to tell. Granted, we know that some of the actors are busy on other projects, but couldn’t it still happen?
