‘Once Upon a Time’ season 5 spoilers: Dark Swan, Regina’s Robin Hood romance, more Comic-Con teasers

If you wanted to find out some more news on “Once Upon a Time” Saturday at the show’s official Comic-Con panel, there is one thing that we can say right now: This is going to be a crazy year for Emma Swan.

Jennifer Morrison stated during the show’s presentation on Saturday (which included a funny video from Patton Oswalt) that Emma’s confidence is going to be shaken to a great degree by her sudden transformation into something very different. With the power of the Dark One now within her, she has to figure out how to fight that. Snow White and others will be there for her, but it is not going to be easy. Is Rumpelstiltskin also around? Sure, but he will begin the season in a coma, and may be very different once he finally wakes up and realizes all that has changed. Some of that slyness will still be there, but in a very different way.

As for Regina, is this the season where she realizes that she can finally be loved? It seems that way based on what Lana Parrilla had to say, but there are no doubt going to be complications. For one, Zelena is still out there, and judging by Rebecca Mader’s promotion to series regular and her attending today’s panel, she is not going anywhere in the near future. This is a significant threat that many of these characters are going to be forced to deal with in some way.

As for Belle, Emilie de Ravin joked that what she really needs at this point is “a vacation” more so than anything else.
