‘The Amazing Race Canada 3’ episode 2 preview: Leaving Canada sooner rather than later

While the first season of “The Amazing Race Canada” did not leave the home state at all, the second season did start to allow the show to expand to other places. They were locations with Air Canada connections, and also places that the show could continue to push a narrative describing what these places meant to the country. It was a cool idea; one of the reasons why we do tend to appreciate the Canadian version even more than the American one is that it carries such an enormous sense of national pride with it wherever it goes.

For season 3, the show is wasting no time at all going from one country to the next, as the remaining contestants are heading down to South America! While we do think that the majority of the race will be in Canada still, this is a nice way to throw people off early and show them a very different part of the world.

Also, this leg is going to be very significant for the future of the season, as the Express Passes will be handed out. We admit that there was a part of us quietly hoping that the show was just planning not to do these anymore. They tend to never by that exciting save for the couple of times a team has went home with one. Otherwise, they eliminate drama just by giving someone a massively easier road to first place.

We’ll be back next week with a review of the second episode. Based on what we’ve seen, it does look like there is some drama ahead!
