Ratings: ‘Mistresses’ season 3, ‘Under the Dome’ improve; ‘Hannibal’ still the same
Last week, it was pretty easy to figure out what one of the reason was for the lower ratings on a variety of different primetime shows: The July 4 holiday. Many people have other priorities that do not include sitting around and watching things live.
With that in mind, maybe you can see some of the news below as positive. First and foremost, “Under the Dome” improved this week slightly to a 1.1 rating int he 18-49 demographic. We are feeling at least reasonably optimistic about the show’s chances at coming back, mostly for the sole fact that it has a pretty good exclusive streaming deal with Amazon Prime, and that means that it does not need huge ratings in order to make money. It is the same thing with a certain CBS series in “Extant.”
As for “Mistresses,” the news was also relatively good … depending on how you define “good.” The show’s ratings rose slightly to a 0.8 rating, but at the same time these are hardly great numbers at all, either. With that being said, they are also not a steep decline from season 2, when the show only averaged a 1.0 rating over the course of the year. Given the change of night, the loss of a lead-in, and the departure of Alyssa Milano as series regular, the show really does not have that much to be sad about at all.
Finally, let’s turn to “Hannibal” … which once again saw its ratings stay constant. Unfortunately, those ratings are at a 0.4, which is bad enough to be considered low on The CW, let alone a network in NBC that has some higher expectations.
