‘Community’ season 7: Alison Brie on series’ future, possible movie
“Community” is over … at least for the time being. Luckily, the good news here is that there is at least some sort of reason to have hope for the future, whether that be in the form of a movie, another season, or something else. Who knows? Maybe Dan Harmon will get everyone together for one last interpretative dance.
Alison Brie was at San Diego Comic-Con this weekend, and while she was not there for the Yahoo Screen series so much as to promote the upcoming TV Land show “Teachers” (in which she serves as an executive producer), she did explain to TVLine that the odds right now are pointing a little bit more towards there being a movie in the future than just about anything else:
“If I were gonna be hopeful about something, I would be more hopeful about a movie than a seventh season.”
While we of course would love to see a “Community” movie or at least something else rather great when it comes to the show, we’ve also come to accept the fact that if nothing else happens, we should be happy. The series had a magnificent run for as long as it was on TV, and the ending was rather appropriate. Jeff Winger had started to come to terms with the fact that everyone else at Greendale would probably leave for other things, and that he still had value being there trying to make the school better. Plus, Brie’s own Annie would make for an awesome FBI agent. We’d pay to watch a show just about that.
