Comic-Con’s ‘Legends of Tomorrow’ trailer hypes up the show’s comic-book origins

Legends -What do you do when you have a really cool idea for a comic-book show, but not any actual new footage to show people at Comic-Con? Clearly, you come up with what the folks at The CW and Warner Bros. did for this year’s convention in San Diego!

The “Legends of Tomorrow” trailer below is awesome for a variety of reasons, with the primary one here being that you have some great comic-book panels and themes stretched throughout that help bridge the gap between the source material and the show. Not all of these characters are even remotely the same in the comics (see: White Canary), but it’s a really solid effort nonetheless and this is an exciting way to introduce some of these characters to people who may not be familiar with a Rip Hunter or a Hawkgirl.

In addition to the new faces, this preview also reminds you of where everything started when it comes to the DC universe on The CW: With Oliver Queen as the Arrow, and then Barry Allen as The Flash. These two are the anchors, and all early indications suggest that they will turn up on “Legends of Tomorrow” at some point … though for how long is to be seen since Stephen Amell and Grant Gustin have to get some sleep at some point.

You are going to be waiting for a long time still to see more news on “Legends of Tomorrow,” given that the series will likely not premiere until early 2016 and filming has not completely started just yet.
