‘Minority Report’ spoilers: Could Tom Cruise feasibly appear?
CBS has scored a major coup in the upcoming fall season by finding a way to get Bradley Cooper involved on their upcoming TV version of “Limitless.” He is an executive producer on the series and will guest-star in the premiere, which is something you don’t often get on some other TV shows.
While Cooper was not present at the San Diego Comic-Con panel for the series earlier this week, he did record in a video message promoting the show to hype up the crowd. Could Tom Cruise ever do the same for “Minority Report”? Suffice it to say, this is a very different situation for a number of different reasons, starting with the simple fact that Cruise is not involved in the series at all. Cooper has more of a stake in its success, and Cruise has also been a movie star for a very long time; for the old-guard in Hollywood, they may not understand so much that TV is where the great stuff truly is these days.
With all of this being said, it’s theoretically possible that a Cruise cameo could still happen. At the Comic-Con panel for the new show today (which included airing 20 minutes of the pilot), executive producer Kevin Falls said that it “may or may not happen.” (A source close to the show was a little more pessimistic about it happening after the panel to Deadline.)
Our feeling on this is really rather simple. We imagine that there is at least a reasonable chance that something like this could happen, provided the show becomes a big hit. If the ratings are subpar, then you may as well write it off now.
“Minority Report” will premiere on Fox come Monday nights at 9:00 p.m. Eastern this fall.
