ABC’s ‘Castle’ season 8 notes: News on Stana Katic, Toks Olagundoye, and more
Ready for some “Castle” notes? It has been a while since we’ve done one of these, but we thought that this would be the right time to present some micro-updates from two cast members … plus a reminder that the crew is already very much at work preparing the show so that the cast can arrive to start filming / doing table reads later this month!
Welcoming Toks Olagundoye – Earlier this week, it was first confirmed that Toks was named a series regular for the upcoming eighth season in the role of Hayley. Exciting? Definitely. What we know about her is that she is a former Scotland Yard officer who will have a still-mysterious role around the main characters. She is coming on after the exit of Penny Johnson Jerald.
Is change scary? From a fandom perspective, we understand that it is. However, we have faith in Terence Paul Winter and Alexi Hawley to tell a great story. Also, Toks was great on “The Neighbors,” and this show is really lucky to have her.
The scripts – So does Stana Katic know yet what is going to happen with Beckett in the premiere? While she may know a thing or two courtesy of conversations with the showrunners (that is how she was convinced to sign another contract), she has not seen the premiere script yet seemingly. That will more than likely happen at some point next week.
We imagine that the premiere will address specifically whether or not Beckett is entering the world of politics. Not only that, but we will likely see why Jerald was written out and also if anything has changed for Ryan and Esposito.

Great and I mean it sincerely. No statements based on mere speculation or guesses. Is not intended to stir up fan concerns or make them worry over unproven statements and quotes. Gives fans some credit for knowing things like when filming will begin, that the first two episode scripts have been completed, etc. Does not yell fire in a crowded theater. Keep up the good work.
