‘Mr. Robot’ episode 4 preview: Elliot battles his own past

Through three episodes, “Mr. Robot” has proven itself to be a brilliant show in many ways, and also one that has a bizarre sort of distance and white noise. It feels almost like they want you to feel detached to a certain extent from Elliot’s surrounding world, almost like they want you to be in his shoes. It has taken us time to get used to the series’ tone, but we enjoy it. It’s a refreshing twist on a network in USA that has become somewhat predictable over the course of the past decade-plus. “Suits” and “Graceland” started to move us in this new exciting direction, and now we’re left with something as great as this.

In continuing the trend of bizarre episode titles that are fitting for the subject matter, next week’s installment is entitled “eps1.3_da3m0ns.mp4.” Meanwhile, the synopsis (written in computer-speak) is as follows:

“fsociety hits the road to initiate world-changing hack. elliots inner demons threaten to derail operation. LIRL.”

We actually had to look up the last part of this: “LIRL” stands for “laughing in real life.” not sure how we didn’t know that before now. The fact that there are technically quite a few different terms in this show we don’t know is a symbol of its authenticity.

Other than that, the information that we have here is not exactly the most revealing. With that said, there is something very intriguing about seeing how this show will continue to push Elliot into new situations and different places.
