‘True Detective’ season 2, episode 4 spoilers: More info on ‘Down Will Come’
How far will some of the characters go on “True Detective” in order to solve the murder of Ben Caspere? Going into episode 4 “Down Will Come,” this is the primary question … at least to go along with if this show can come up with a seminal moment that gets people actually talking beyond a near-death that really did not amount to much.
We have for you now the short synopsis via SpoilerTV for this episode, and it at least suggests to us that the series is going to continue to take Frank (Vince Vaughn) down a very familiar road for him in order to ensure that he does not get dragged any further into a bad place in the long-term: “The detail works a pawn-shop lead to close in on a suspect in the Caspere case. Frank revisits his past to pay for his present.”
Not the most revealing synopsis in the world, right? Well, it is hard to necessarily expect anything different from the show at this point. More so than releasing some good description, the one thing that this show needs to really work hard at now is finding a way to ensure that people are exciting to see what happens again. We’ve lost a little bit of faith in the show’s realism after the Ray Velcoro shooting, and it needs to figure out how to pique our interest.
One other interesting part of this episode is that once it ends, we are entering more of a void. This is the last installment that critics will have seen, as the first four were sent out to many in advance.
