‘Sherlock’ season 4: See Benedict Cumberbatch, Martin Freeman in new tease from special
Clearly, the folks over at BBC One are very good at getting excitement levels to spike for the upcoming “Sherlock” season 4 special. Then again, all it really takes is one photo. It doesn’t take much to get adrenaline pumping with these fans.
The image HERE was shared by the network on Twitter today, giving you a look once again at the tremendous mustache sported by Martin Freeman. Did he borrow this from Tom Selleck and curl it up a bit? (We kid, people!) Also, Benedict Cumberbatch as Holmes definitely looks rather serious in this image. If you’re wondering what is with the style here (the chain!), it is a nod to the fact that for this special, we are going back in time. This episode is entirely non-canon, and is really just a chance for Steven Moffat and his two leads to tell a story that is more authentic and in the world of the Arthur Conan Doyle books.
Basically, think about this special (which could premiere on the BBC this Christmas) as an effective little teaser of what could be coming up for “Sherlock” in season 4, at least in terms of writing style. There won’t really be any other hints; your best hope for more there could be at the “Sherlock” Comic-Con panel later this week. Moffat will be back to discuss further what is coming up; at this point, we are wondering if season 4 proper will even air in 2016.
We will have some other news related to the series as it starts to come out, so be on the lookout for that!
