‘Fargo’ season 2: New promos bring you first look at Kirsten Dunst, Ted Danson
There are few series on television right now that have us intrigued / excited on the same level as “Fargo.” The first season was somewhat of a thing of beauty, as it told this creepy, complicated case against a pale-white backdrop. Billy Bob Thornton and Martin Freeman gave some of their best performances to date, and we were transfixed by the way in which the story came to a close.
Going into season 2, these expectations run the risk of a “True Detective” effect: Having the buzz outweigh what you can deliver, at least to date. Yet, we feel like FX has circumvented that greatly by steering clear of actors who will draw constant headlines. You may know Patrick Wilson, Ted Danson, and Kirsten Dunst, but they are not going to line the pages of Us Weekly or other tabloids. They all are invested in proving their range on this season, and playing their part in a murderous series of events several decades ago.
You can see the latest two promos over at Entertainment Weekly, and one featuring Dunst starts off particularly shocking. The promo wants you to think that her character is wiping blood off of her hands, only for it to be revealed as dye. She is working within a hair salon along a town strip. The other features Wilson and Danson’s “break” in a work shift, sitting with their cars parked side-by-side in the middle of the snow before driving in opposite directions.
The new season premieres this fall, and hopefully the show will be a reflection of the subtle humor and dark intrigue presented in these. (Photo: FX.)
