‘Girls’ season 5: Whose famous daughter is working on set?
While the fifth season of “Girls” is filming for HBO, what may be just as notable this point is who is working behind the scenes on the show just as much as who is actually making their presence known on-camera.
According to Us Weekly, President Obama’s 17-year old daughter Malia is serving as a production intern on the series this summer. This comes a year after she filled similar duties for the Halle Berry series “Extant.” These are jobs that require a great deal of hard work, and she is not getting too much in the way of special treatment. Productions have a busy schedule, and they do not have too much time to go out of their way to help others.
Here is what a source close to the production ultimately had to say on this subject:
“She’s a fan, and she mentioned that to Lena [Dunham] when she came to the White House … I’m not sure how long she’ll be interning for. It’s a bit of a trial thing for her. They’ve known each other and discussed for a while. Lena and her get along great.”
Do we feel like this “source” is making way too big of a deal out of the relationship that Lena and production probably have with one another at the moment? Probably, since it’s not like they will really be spending that much time together if this is like most other sets. Also, we don’t anticipate Malia is going to be present for all of the show’s raunchy scenes, either, given that this is not typically what interns or production assistants are there for.
