‘The Fall’ season 3: When could Jamie Dornan, Gillian Anderson series return to TV?

The Fall -When it comes to this story on “The Fall,” the first thing that you should remember is that you’re not going to be seeing the series on the air for a long time. Filming for it has not even begun yet, and will not until later this fall. Gillian Anderson is working as of now on the much-anticipated revival of “The X-Files,” while Jamie Dornan has on slate some projects of his own.

So when could the show actually return? If you live overseas in the United Kingdom, you will get a chance to see this first over on BBC Two. In Ireland, the series airs on RTE. While we’d love to see the show perhaps early next year in a timeslot occupied by “Sherlock” a year and a half ago, we feel like the most-likely premiere situation for “The Fall” season 3 would be the spring. You do not want the show to compete against some other competition, such as “Call the Midwife” or even the British version of “The Voice.”

As for America, we would be happy to see the show back on the air next summer. That would help fill any Gillian Anderson void left in the event “Hannibal” is canceled for good. “The X-Files” is set at the moment to run for several weeks early next year.

Ultimately, we are going to feel mostly grateful just to have this series on the air at all in 2016. This means that there will be at least a little less time waiting between seasons here than with the BBC and “Sherlock,” which really is keeping you waiting thanks to schedules.
