‘Once Upon a Time’ season 5 spoilers: Will we see Maleficent or Lily again?
Speaking per Entertainment Weekly, executive producer Edward Kitsis makes it clear that there are some plans that the show has to implement these characters on the show, but there are priorities such as dealing with Emma Swan’s dark side that take precedence early:
“We intend to tell that story at some point this season … We set it up for a reason. That is one we are definitely intending to do.”
Ultimately, we are just happy to see the series breaking from its own mold somewhat at this point. Through most of season 3 and the first part of season 4, it felt just like we were getting 11-episode arcs that really did not matter the moment that they were over. It doesn’t feel that way anymore, especially with Zelena coming back during the fourth season and retroactively making her arc over a year ago all the more important.
