‘The Daily Show with Jon Stewart’ takes a look at the week in Donald Trump
It has taken a little bit of time, but we are starting now to get especially nostalgic when it comes to the end of “The Daily Show with Jon Stewart.” While watching last night’s episode of the show, Jon reminded us that he is going to be off for the next two weeks. He will return after that for then three more weeks, and that is basically a dozen more installments on the air. That is somewhat sad and/or terrifying to think that more than a decade and a half of entertainment is going to be at an end that soon.
In the video below, you can see a little bit more of what we would describe at the moment to be vintage Jon Stewart, mostly in that it is a few minutes devoted yet again to Donald Trump, a man who he has been mocking well before he ran for President, and the media’s coverage of him across the board when it comes to his choice of words.
This has been certainly a rocky week for Trump, given that he has lost a deal with Macy’s, his TV deal with NBC and Univision for Miss USA, and also has been criticized by many Latino groups over his comments. While Reelz Channel did pick up the pageant, their head honcho more or less made it clear that it was because of the tradition, and not because they agreed with Trump’s beliefs.
We’ll see whether or not there are some more Trump headlines for Stewart to address when he returns to work in a couple of weeks.
