‘Mr. Robot’ episode 3 preview: Will anything ever be normal again?
When “Mr. Robot” comes back on USA next week, we’re going to see Elliot right away in a very different sort of place than where he was for most of the second episode: He’ll be cut up and in a hospital bed, promising that he will change a certain way in which he does things. Can you really blame the guy for that? Given what we have seen him deal with when it comes to Fsociety already, now seems like the perfect time to bail and go back to a solo career-of-sorts away from work.
If that were to happen, were the series really be that interesting? We don’t think so, which is why next week’s new episode should remain just as interesting as all of the others. We’ve talked extensively already about the super-innovative way in which the show is promoting themselves with episode titles and descriptions; next week is “eps1.2_d3bug.mkv,” which of course sounds much more like a file than it does a title. The synopsis is written in a familiar code:
“elliot tries to lead normal life – but pulled back into fsociety. gideon gets suspicious. tyrell plays dirty @ evil corp. I did it 4 the lulz.”
Given that we are extremely geeky about such things, we of course are always a fan of specific word choices. Here, we’re intrigued by the pronoun choice at the end. Who are we supposed to believe are writing these?
