ABC’s ‘Castle’ season 8 spoilers: Premiere details, including the title!
While “Castle” season 8 has not started to film yet, it’s never too early to start sharing episode-title news … provided that we of course have it.
Today, TVLine was the first to report that the upcoming September 21 episode will be named “XY,” and it will be written by showrunners Terence Paul Winter and Alexi Hawley. this is going to be the first of a two-part episode, and it is a pretty important hour of TV for them, given that the pressure is going to be for them to really deliver on something pretty outstanding straight out of the gate. At least they are both people who are familiar with the franchise thanks to their past work there, so in theory they should know a thing or two about what fans want to see.
At the moment, that is really the only scoop that we’re comfortable with saying right now, given that there are so many different rumors floating around about “Castle” and its premiere that don’t have a lot of evidence to back them up. We know that there are currently 22 episodes planned, and that Nathan Fillion and Stana Katic should be present for all of them unless something crazy happens. Really, you should think of this just like any other season until we heard for certain otherwise. We know that there is a new character coming aboard in Hayley, and we’ve spent plenty of time speculating all about that.
What’s your take on the title, and is there is really anything that stands out to you right now about it other than it being letters of the alphabet / chromosomes? Share now in the comments!

Well if you go with the chromosome theory then season 8 is the end of the series. Marlowe stated that when Beckett gave birth that would be the end.
I have my doubts that any of the writers can match the 40’s Nick and Nora Charles sassy banter, the last stable of writers couldn’t pull it off.
Good luck to Winter/Hawley.

When the time came to renew contracts Nathan was the first to sign and indicates (at least to me) that he is happy with his role in Castle. Stana, however, indicated that she was unhappy and would not sign unless there was further development in her character (thank God for the prevention of staleness). I would think that all of this could easily lead to 3 more seasons (including season 8) as Beckett became captain of the 12th, as she became a senator and as she became a mother. With regard to the writers I believe that they are capable provided they are given proper guidance with regard to the overall season story line. I believe that a lot of the recent trouble was a result of the previous show runners’ liking for story arcs that did not make sense. After all if Castle’s disappearance was so important why did it take a year before there was any real activity regarding it. Why did it take 4 years between appearances of 3xk. Why the disruption (6×23) in the Caskett wedding. I believe that Nathan was 100% correct when he said that people get bored in the waiting and that that was the cause of the drop in viewers from 13 million to 9 million.

We all know that x is often used in algebraic formulas for the unknown. Likewise y can also represent an unknown altogether different than x. The two together can also represent an unknown or it could represent x times y. Mathematically x and y can represent the horizontal (x) axis and the vertical axis (y) for graphing and other purposes. And the list of mathematical and representative (x=castle and y= Becket) uses can go on to the point of tedium. Hence I refuse to consider any of the possible ramifications when all I have to do is wait until 9/21/2015.

“xy” “z” – I just keep think that saying “it’s as easy as xyz”. Or, x and y are the question, and z is the answer.
