Could NeNe Leakes still appear on ‘The Real Housewives of Atlanta’?

Earlier this week, the news first arrived at the doorstep of many fans of “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” that NeNe Leakes no longer is going to be a part of the series. This was particularly surprising news at the time, given her status as one of the franchise’s biggest stars and in addition to that, someone who draws ratings and headlines.

However, what we are learning now is that things may be a little bit more complex when it comes to NeNe than it first appeared. As reported recently by TMZ, producers are interested in bringing Leakes on in some sort of recurring capacity, given that there are a variety of different terms that both parties can agree to. The report claims that the reason for NeNe’s departure is financial; she is going to be working on a sitcom, and the only way she wanted to continue to do the Bravo series was if there was enough pay to make it worthwhile. If the money is decent and everything works out schedule-wise, maybe she does show up a time or two on the upcoming season.

While we feel like NeNe has made an enormous impact on the show and it probably won’t be the same again, we also have to be realistic here in saying one other thing: It’s not like she was really fitting into many storylines at this point, anyway. NeNe was somewhat isolated at times throughout this past season, in part because of some of the other things she had going on. She may almost be better suited for a solo show if she stays with Bravo.
