‘Empire’ season 2: Lee Daniels furthers his relationship with Fox

Empire -At the moment, this is a very good time to be Lee Daniels. The prolific director / writer / producer is one of the main architects behind “Empire,” and as a result of this and his prior work, he is now furthering along his relationship with the studio 20th Century Fox. Sources confirm that Daniels has signed a new multiyear deal to remain with the studio; not only will he remain an executive producer on “Empire” and direct episodes, but he will also work further to develop other projects with the studio.

In a statement confirming the news, Daniels had the following to say about getting this opportunity:

“I’m incredibly excited to continue my relationship with Dana and Gary and the rest of the Fox team. I’m looking forward to developing content and finding alternative voices for both in front of and behind the camera.”

We hope that Daniels is going to get a chance to come up with some other great opportunities to shine on Fox and in other avenues; we already know that he can produce hits, so there is really no need for concern about any other idea that he has. He is going to continue to have opportunities to come up with other hits so Fox can continue to expand their brand.

Season 2 of “Empire” is currently slated to premiere on the network later this fall, and we will have further news on it as it starts to be revealed. At the moment, it is the #1 scripted drama on network TV by a wide margin.
