‘The Bachelorette’: Chris Harrison defends presentation of Nick Viall – Kaitlyn Bristowe scene

The latest -We don’t want to spend too much more time discussing at length the actual act of Kaitlyn Bristowe and Nick Viall sleeping together on “The Bachelorette,” mostly because we feel like that is a subject that has really been done to death already. How much more is there to say about something that has already ignited the internet? Ultimately, it is her show, and it is therefore her decision to do what she wants to with it.

So instead, let’s talk about what was really the issue to us about the whole series of events: The way it was shown. Did we really need to hear all of those noises? We don’t think so, since we feel like viewers would have gotten the hint had we seen them go into the room with the cameras off. There are only so many things that are going to happen in there.

In true unsurprisingly fashion, though Chris Harrison is of course coming to the show’s defense here on this subject! Just take a look at what he had to say to E! News on the subject:

“There was that line, for sure. There always is on our show of like, what do you show, what do you not show, for a lot of reasons. For story, for not giving away an ending, whatever, so we obviously have those debates. And then the network’s involved with that line of decency,” he explains. “You have to tell the truth, but…I know there’s probably families and kids watching, so how do you get your point across without getting the point completely across? [Laughs.] So I think we did, I think we walked a nice, fine line.”
