‘Poldark’ episode 2 preview (PBS): Teases on Ross, Demelza, and much more

Last week, PBS audiences got their first taste of the “Poldark” remake, and for the most part we feel like the reception is positive. This is a series that at least somewhat breaks the mold of prototypical British period dramas from the past few years. There is an action component to this to go along with some of the deep drama and the political shuffling. You also have one of the most capable male leads you are ever going to meet in Aidan Turner’s Ross.

Much like many of the other British imports that we cover here at CarterMatt, what we are going to do here in setting up this episode is give you a series of assorted teasers all about what you can expect.

1. There will be one scene in this episode regarding Ross and a large body of water that will most likely get a ton of attention from viewers. We at least know that it did back when this installment first aired in the United Kingdom.

2. Demelza is going to share a scene with at least one unlikely person, and this will be a moment that could shape the future of this character in an interesting way.

3. You are probably going to come to really not like the character of George. He is out mostly for himself, and to get in the way of anyone who comes between him and things that he happens to be interested in. Feel for Ross already here.

4. Ross will take part in some sort of heroic episode by the time we get to the end of the episode. Will he be appreciated for it in the way that he most likely deserves?
