’19 Kids and Counting’ stars Jull Duggar, Derick Dillard leaving country for missionary work

19 Kids and Counting -It has been a little while since we have heard much of any news regarding the future status of a certain “19 Kids and Counting” on TLC, but based on what we are hearing now, it definitely is looking more and more like Jill Duggar and Derick Dillard are preparing for a future that does not include being in America, and presumably therefore being a part of the show.

In a lengthy post on the couple’s blog, Derick made it clear that he is departing his position with Walmart, and he and his wife are preparing to move overseas in an effort to do missionary work. In the process, we imagine that they are going to be away from some of the cameras and media attention that have followed them around since the news broke about Josh Duggar’s history molesting many family members:

“After much prayer and seeking Godly counsel, we realized that taking this opportunity and moving overseas in order to serve is the best option for our family. Earlier this year we shared our plans with our families and in May, I shared this decision with my manager at Wal-Mart, where I was working in the Tax department. I recently left the company and we are currently preparing to leave the US and begin our new endeavor in July. We don’t expect this new adventure to always be easy, but God never promised that following Him wouldn’t have its challenges. We are confident in knowing that there is no better place to be than in the center of God’s will for our lives. We look forward to this adventure and the joy of serving Him in this new way.”

For a time, there were some rumors that TLC could move away from “19 Kids and Counting” and focus more on Jill, her sister Jessa, and their young families given that they are both new mothers. However, that’d be really hard to do if they are in different parts in the world. This should make it very clear that the Duggars are at least moving on, and at least some of them may no longer be interested in having the spotlight on them after all they have been through.
