‘True Detective’ season 2, episode 2 video: Colin Farrell reflects before next episode
The premiere of “True Detective” may have been polarizing for some, but we do think that there is one thing that is close to universal: Colin Farrell was pretty darn fantastic in the opening episode. His character of Ray Velcoro is an interesting, complex figure. On one side of the coin, he is an extremely streetwise guy who cares about being a single dad and also his job. However, he is also someone who lacks empathy, takes things to extremes, and is in desperate need of a coping mechanism or two.
In the sneak peek video, you can hear a little bit more about that via Farrell himself, as he discusses at length some of the events of the season so far, and also how they could manifest in future events. Specifically, we are looking at the later in the context of his relationship with Vince Vaughn’s Frank, a man he has some sort of understanding with despite his criminal past.
These two characters will have plenty of face time moving forward, mostly due to a murder case that will be connected to a project that Frank was involved with that was a little more on the straight and narrow. At the same time, this is also an investigation that will rope in Taylor Kitsch and Rachel McAdams’ characters, and start to really overwhelm much of the Southern California region.
There is not much in the way of definitive news out there regarding Sunday night’s new episode yet, but you better believe we’ll have more news here as it starts to come out.
