‘Beauty and the Beast’ season 3, episode 3 review: Are Bob and Carol what they seem?
Can “Beauty and the Beast” improve past what is a pretty easy story to telegraph? That was the challenge in some ways for Thursday night’s new episode entitled “Bob & Carol & Vincent & Cat.” This was an installment that introduced us to a “perfect couple” who on the surface seemed like they were great role models for Cat and Vincent as they plotted out their future, including whether or not to take all of Heather’s wedding planning and apply it to what they want to do for themselves.
However, Bob and Carol proved to actually be behind part of the testing that has been a central point in story this season. There have been many issues already (the death of Agent Thomas), and tonight they almost went through with killing Cat. The only reason that they decided not to was because they may be of a little more use to them alive … for now. They know they have more information.
Also, Vincent and Cat decided to not just take Heather’s wedding template, and try to figure out what they want to do on their own down the road.
Interestingly, the two biggest moves of the night were actually from the supporting cast, and that is ultimately what we enjoyed the most in this episode. First and foremost, we learned that Tess has secured her promotion to Captain! That may help Cat open some doors moving forward.
Also, it just so turns out that JT does possess a new power: He can heal himself! It’s definitely a game-changer for the character, and something that could play a big role moving forward. Episode Grade: B.
