‘Empire’ season 2 spoilers: Filming begins; Chris Rock’s role reveals

While the majority of the fall TV series are going to be starting up production a little bit later this summer, we come bearing big news for all who love “Empire“: Filming is already underway here on the hit Fox series!

Today, the show itself confirmed the glorious news, and in the process, they were also kind enough to reveal that Chris Rock is set to play the role of someone who Lucious Lyon is going to spend some time with while behind bars after being arrested on suspicion of murder last season. It is not entirely clear what his personal history is with Lucious, but this is one interesting story to take note on. Given that Chris Rock is definitely a big-name casting, this is the sort of thing that you really have to take note of almost right away.

Filming for the second season is most likely to continue the remainder of the year; given that there are a whopping eighteen episodes this time around as opposed to the mere 12 that came the first season, that means that the show is going to be working even longer days and hours to ensure that it remains of the highest quality. For the time being, it is easy to remain excited. After all, “Empire” is at the moment the top-rated network series, and early indications are that there is going to be quite a bit to look forward to over the course of the episodes ahead.
