‘Legends of Tomorrow’ hires ‘Tomorrow People,’ ‘Chuck’ alum Phil Klemmer as showrunner

Legends -One of the concerns that we have had almost immediately when it comes to The CW expanding their comic-book universe is simply how in the world they are going to handle having so many people stretched so thin across many shows. Now, we have our answer: It looks more and more like they will really not be stretched too thin at all. The network is continuing to bring great people in who have some experience when it comes to making great television happen.

Today, that includes Phil Klemmer. Multiple sources confirm that the former “Tomorrow People” showrunner (who has also done work on great shows like “Chuck” and “Veronica Mars”) will be aboard DC’s “Legends of Tomorrow” as its main showrunner. He is someone uniquely qualified working on shows featuring a super-powered cast, and he also has a history working with The CW and, in the event he ever shows up here, Robbie Amell. Peyton List was also on “The Tomorrow People,” and we feel like it’s very possible Lisa Snart shows up at one point or another.

Klemmer will most likely work with Marc Guggenheim, Andrew Kreisberg, and Greg Berlanti (really the holy trinity of these shows for The CW) on making sure that this is the best show that it can possibly be. For the time being, what we know is that he has a great group of characters including Ray Palmer and a revived Sara Lance, and a story that will weave many of the characters through time.

“Legends of Tomorrow” is now going to premiere until midseason, so we are going to have a ways to wait. Stay tuned for further updates.
