‘The Fosters’ season 3, episode 3 review: Jude and Connor’s trauma; Callie’s idea

Fosters -Tonight’s new episode of “The Fosters” was very much about dealing with the aftermath of what happened both in the past few episodes, but also everything that has happened throughout the season so far. This has been an eventful story, and to us a real highlight was seeing Jude and Connor deal with the aftermath of the shooting while at a range.

Sometimes, it takes something visceral in order for someone to have a haunting memory of the past, and that is what seemed to happen here with Connor. Despite the heartache that came from this, it did turn into a bonding moment for him and Jude, and a reminder that these two really are going to start learning soon that they can tell each other things.

When it comes to the story of AJ, we have to admit that at first, we were not so interested in him. He’s far shown that despite some of the help given to him, he’s having trouble helping himself. Luckily, we do think that there is a little bit of hope here based on the events of the end of the episode. All of this ultimately led to Callie being inspired to create an app that would allow foster kids a chance to find one another. It’s an interesting concept, but this may take a lot of work to set up.

This episode may be a turning point for the AJ character, and most important we feel like it sets the stage for some major developments to come. Think of this as more of a foundation. Grade: B.
