‘True Detective’ season 2, episode 1 video: One final promo to get you prepared

If you are like us, then you’ve been waiting for the premiere of “True Detective” for a “long, long time” (to quote the guy from the first season). This is one of HBO’s most critically-acclaimed series, and they have truly kept you waiting for a long time to see just what is going to be coming up on the second season.

Thankfully, that time for waiting is more or less at an end. The second season comes on Sunday night, and the latest promo below via the network teases that when Colin Farrell and Vince Vaughn’s characters meet, it is going to be a confrontation like no other. This is a series that makes its money being dark, brooding, and intense. There are few others like it, and we do want to see the show prove some of the doubters wrong that the success of season 1 cannot be replicated.

We know already that there are some who are not exactly enthusiastic about the return of the show, and feel almost like HBO is spinning its wheels bringing it back and hoping for the same thing. While many reviews have been positive, we’ve even heard from a few that this season in the early going lacks some of the magnetism of the original.

While we do have our concerns, we are going to be sticking this one through from start to finish. We will be back later not just with a review of the premiere, but also one of the first promos of what you can expect moving forward.
