‘True Detective’ season 2 video: See Colin Farrell, Vince Vaughn, Jimmy Fallon talk ‘truths’
The second season of “True Detective” is set to premiere on HBO come Sunday night, and with that most likely comes a string of appearances from many of the show’s stars across the internet. Specifically in this case, we are talking about the latest appearance from stars Vince Vaughn and Colin Farrell on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon,” where they spent a great deal of time talking about their own pasts and allowing each other to play detective.
Now, we should make it pretty clear that we do have a tendency to be very hard on Fallon and his preference sometimes to play silly games over actually doing any hard interviewing. In this case, though, we find ourselves to be rather fond of what he brought to the table. This was a fun interview! Through it, we ultimately had a chance to hear a lot of tremendous fun back-and-forth featuring the two cast members and also Jimmy.
As a matter of fact, we’d love to see the game back in some other shape or form in the future.
As a whole, we feel like the audience reaction has been rather mixed to this point when it comes to the second season. There are some out there who seem very supportive of the show’s return and some of its darker themes, but there are others who have stated that perhaps the series is trying too hard to establish a super-serious, philosophical tone a la the first season.
