‘Breaking Bad,’ ‘Once Upon a Time’ actor Giancarlo Esposito heads over to Netflix

We know that Giancarlo Esposito is a tremendous actor, and it is with that in mind we imagine that he can get almost any acting role out there that he decides to take on. Therefore, we’re not surprised that he would head over to Netflix, given that they are where a majority of wonderful quality content is being made these days.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the “Breaking Bad” alum and occasional “Once Upon a Time” guest star is going to be a part of Baz Luhrmann’s upcoming musical drama entitled “The Get Down,” which is going to run for 13 episodes in 2016. The series is set in the complicated 1970s in New York City, and he will play the part of a passionate Pastor named Ramon Cruz (as opposed to Raymond Cruz, the actor who plays Tuco on “Breaking Bad” and “Better Call Saul”). Esposito’s character is the brother of one played by series star Jimmy Smits, and he is very good at drawing people in to see his sermons. He also has a contentious relationship with his daughter Mylene (Herizen Guardiola), who is hoping to become a star in the disco world. All of this definitely sounds intriguing, though you may have to wait a while to see the results.

The one thing that we’re curious about here is if there will be time left over still for Esposito to potentially appear at some point on “Better Call Saul,” mostly because it would feel really strange to not see him on there eventually.

Either way, congrats to Giancarlo on the new gig! He’s certainly worthy.
