‘Breaking Bad’ alum Aaron Paul signs on for new Hulu series
Wondering what Aaron Paul’s next TV project was going to be? We now have some sort of an answer for you.
The former “Breaking Bad” star is set to appear in Hulu’s “The Way,” a ten-episode series from “Parenthood” alum Jessica Goldberg that features a family who is front and center as leaders of a very controversial movement taking place and drawing headlines. His character is Eddie Cleary, who is has converted to it and undergoes a series of shocking changes that cause him to question everything that he has known to be fact.
Paul will be joined on the show by “True Detective” alum Michelle Monaghan, who is set to play his wife. This is a chance for both of them to stretch their wings with a new project, and for the most part we like the sound of it. Note that we don’t imagine this impeding in the slightest with whether or not he ever appears on “Better Call Saul.” Co-creators Vince Gilligan and Peter Gould have not written out a cameo by Paul or Bryan Cranston, but it feels like they are mostly waiting for the right time as to not exploit it just for the sake of headlines.
Notably, this announcement comes days after Paul joked around about starring in a “Breaking Bad” sequel series featuring his character Jesse Pinkman in Alaska in a chat on Periscope, which caused some fans to take what he said literally. He later ended up apologizing for getting some fans’ hopes up in a post on Twitter (see below).
