‘The X Factor’ UK spoilers: Rita Ora – Nick Grimshaw officially hired

The latest news -We knew that there would be an announcement soon regarding the future of the “X Factor” UK judging panel, but finding out about Rita Ora and Nick Grimshaw signing up within the span of a single day is something that surprises even us.

Today, it was confirmed by ITV that both Nick Grimshaw of Radio One and Rita Ora have signed on to be the judges for the new season premiering later this summer. While Grimshaw’s hire was long suspected, Ora was never really confirmed until the last second. She was a part of the British version of “The Voice,” but her friendship with Grimshaw coupled with some very generous offers from Simon Cowell were enough to convince her to go for it.

In a statement, Ora said the following about deciding on this as her next entertainment destination, which she visited previously as a guest judge years ago:

“I am excited to be coming back … I had a ball here in 2012. This is a journey I can’t wait to embark on to find some talented singers.”

Meanwhile, Grimshaw added the following:

“Music is my job and my passion and I’m really looking forward to seeing what talent we can find and nurture this year. I can’t wait for judges’ houses in Oldham!”

These hires, coupled with bringing in Olly Murs and Caroline Flack as co-hosts, were made mostly to ensure that there would be a younger audience watching the show this year. That in turn could lead to the show going viral, and having more opportunities to get higher ratings as a whole.
