Will Donald Trump’s Presidential run impact ‘The Celebrity Apprentice’?

Do we understand that there are many out there who care way more about politics than whether or not “The Celebrity Apprentice” returns to the air? Sure, but this is a TV site. Our investment first and foremost is always going to be to our favorite medium.

With that in mind, we have to now ask the question: Is it possible that the NBC series is over because of Trump’s decision to pursue a run for President? It’s something that will be interesting to watch. Because of rules regarding the amount of airtime that can be given to a single candidate, Trump cannot star on the show so long as he is in the race, as it would present an unfair advantage. However, is it possible that the show could continue without him aboard? Here is what an NBC rep had to say in a statement, per The Hollywood Reporter:

“We will re-evaluate Trump’s role as host of Celebrity Apprentice should it become necessary, as we are committed to this franchise.”

Do we think that Trump is going to be happy with “The Celebrity Apprentice” if he is not on it? Probably not, but we probably wouldn’t be, either. The idea about this show that is so great is mostly that it is just all one big joke, and if the network actually tries to make it into something serious, will there be any fun in it anymore? We are honestly not so sure.

Anyway, we should have a chance to find out one way or another aswe get further and further into Trump’s campaign. It’s certainly possible that he flounders, and we don’t really hear anything else from him by the end of the year.
