‘The Bachelorette’ review: Joshua Albers, Ian Thomson, Nick Viall, and Kaitlyn Bristowe drama

Kaitlyn -Monday night’s new episode of “The Bachelorette” brought to us quite a bit of entertainment, whether it be line-dancing, mariachi music, or Joshua getting his hair wrecked after coming up to this crazy idea that he was going to allow Kaitlyn Bristowe cut his hair as a way to show trust.

Let’s start here, though, by referencing the fact that Nick Viall is clearly here to stay this competition. He got the group date rose in San Antonio, made a big show out of his mariachi act, and then also angered many of the other guys without doing anything. He actually didn’t really do anything that was terrible to the other guys, but his history with the franchise caused Joshua and his new hair to go all sorts of crazy. He just could not get away from the fact that Nick “feels” wrong. Maybe he’s right, or maybe he’s wrong.

The funny thing here is that we ultimately do think that Joshua is a good guy. He probably just got way too much in his own head, and was far too naive to think that other people were going to support him in throwing other people under the bus.

The one-on-one dates tonight were of course somewhat boring. Granted, Ben Higgins and Shawn Booth (who did challenge Kaitlyn at one point) are likable guys and potential long-term contenders, but we’ve never really enjoyed watching this part of the episode unless the dates are completely insane.

The biggest thing that surprised us tonight? More so than seeing anything Joshua freak out, how about the jerky comments from Ian about his ex-girlfriend being so much “hotter” than Kaitlyn? Any sympathy that we had for him went completely out the door by how arrogant and how sophomoric he came across tonight. Now, we could care less if we ever see him on the show again. Grade: B.
