‘The X Factor’ UK spoilers: Nick Grimshaw judging announcement imminent

Well, we are almost finally at the time when some of the rumors can stop being rumors when it comes to “The X Factor” UK. We’ve heard for many weeks now that Nick Grimshaw is going to be added to the judging panel, and it now almost feels imminent that this is actually going to happen.

According to The Sun, an announcement on the Radio One host could happen tomorrow, with it taking some sort of huge snag to keep this from happening. Grimshaw is still a very interesting choice for a spot on the show, mostly since he is neither an artist nor a record executive. Yet, he knows music extremely well, and has a robust history speaking with some of the biggest personalities that are out there. He is also knows what sort of music tends to be successful in the long-term.

As for who will join him, Simon Cowell, and Cheryl Fernandez-Virsini on the panel, for the time being the leading candidate seems to be Rita Ora, who could be snatched away from “The Voice” UK. She and Grimshaw are believed to be close, and there could be a nice salary bump to go along with making the move if she decides to do it.

We imagine that by the time July 1 rolls around, we’ll know something definitive one way or another. How long is it that ITV and Cowell really want to keep people waiting? The quicker the announcement, the faster the chemistry between the judges will grow.
