‘Penny Dreadful’ season 2, episode 8 preview: ‘Memento Mori’ and The Creature

If you felt like tonight’s new episode of “Penny Dreadful” was all sorts of crazy and intense, the news that we have for you right now is simple: The carnage is far from over yet. The Creature’s path of destruction is only beginning, and to go along with that, we’re likely to get a mixture of violent, romantic, and intriguing scenes over the course of the night. Let’s hope that somewhere along the way, Lily does not decide to step away with any other men for a night of intimacy. It won’t end well.

“Memento Mori” is the title for the installment airing next week, and the synopsis below offers up at least a pair of important details on what to expect:

“The Creature unleashes his rage; Sir Malcolm goes to confront Evelyn.”

There are two things that we find ourselves especially curious about going into the next new episode:

1. How much more time will Ethan and Vanessa spend together?

2. Are we going to take advantage of an opportunity somewhere in here to see if Lily kills again, even outside of the situation we saw tonight?

Sure, we know that there are many developments that exist beyond this, and the show has a lot to tackle over the next several weeks. After all, there are only ten episodes this season, and that in itself is two more than what we had in season 1. If this was season, the end would almost be here already.
