Teen Choice Awards 2015: ‘Arrow,’ ‘Vampire Diaries,’ ‘Once Upon a Time,’ ‘Sleepy Hollow’ fight for victory

Teen Choice -To us, there’s little doubt that one of the most competitive categories of the entire Teen Choice Awards this year will be Choice TV Show: Sci-Fi / Fantasy. There are six different nominees here, and to a certain extent we could see all of them competing. Sure, some are more likely to win than others, but we do envision this one being a compelling race to watch over the course of the next several months. Much of it could depend just on which fan base manages to convince others outside of them to join in the voting.

Below, we’re going to give you our quick take on the race, but this isn’t just about us! At the poll at the very bottom of this article, you can also share some of your own personal thoughts for who should win.

The nominees

The 100 (The CW)

Agents of SHIELD (ABC)

Arrow (The CW)

Once Upon a Time (ABC)

Sleepy Hollow (Fox)

The Vampire Diaries (The CW)

Who should win – We would probably say that “Agents of SHIELD” may actually be coming off of the best season out of any of the shows nominated, but we would also argue that “Arrow” still has a whole lot of momentum thanks to the whole CW superhero show machine that is still going strong right now. It appeals perfectly to the audience, and given how it didn’t get nearly the awards it deserved to last year, we’d like to see it snag one here.

Who will win – We do think that “The Vampire Diaries” is vulnerable given that it is not the smash hit it once was, but it may still pull this out due to fans wanting to send off Nina Dobrev with one last series of surfboard trophies for the show. “Once Upon a Time” is to us an interesting competitor; it has a huge international following, and if these people can all unify behind the show, there’s a good chance for a win.
