‘Halt and Catch Fire’ season 2, episode 3 preview: Gordon’s new role

Halt -When we last saw Gordon on “Halt and Catch Fire,” he was doing everything in his power to try to figure out a new role for himself in the world. Drugs weren’t doing it for him, so the word (specifically, the work of Mutiny) because his new fix. Before Cameron really knew it, he had managed to more or less immerse himself into everything that she was working on with Cameron!

Are there some advantages to this? We’d say so, mostly because this does offer up the two an opportunity to be closer in their relationship, while at the same time Donna now has someone else aboard who is extremely skilled. We’re liking the second season’s focus on game development more so than what we had in season 1, even if for the most part we don’t quite understand just yet what we are building towards. The events of season 1 to get a computer a little more out there were a little more clearly defined.

The good news above all else here is that Gordon seems to be back immersed into this world. Not only that, but the beard is back! It’s pretty hard to be bummed out about seeing him more in his element.

Still, we cannot watch this sneak peek and be oblivious to where Joe stands in all of this. Lee Pace has not spent really any time at all with the season 1 cast this season so far, opting instead for a job with Jacob Wheeler that has been for the most part horrendous to his level of ambition. In order for this season to take off, he’s going to have to get involved at some point.
