‘The Astronaut Wives Club’: Watch first five minutes featuring Yvonne Strahovski, Wilson Bethel

ABC is really going all-out when it comes to their upcoming Thursday-night lineup. You have the return of “Mistresses” for one, but then they are complimenting that by also bringing in a show in “The Astronaut Wives Club” that does hold a good bit of promise. It features an era of television that has been popular as of late thanks to “Mad Men” and “Masters of Sex,” and who doesn’t love talking about the space race?

Well, you don’t have to wait anymore until July 18 in order to figure out whether or not you will enjoy this series about the women who were front and center during one of the most exciting times in American history. The first five minutes of the show is below! There is some good stuff in here, but it and the promotional photo above both help you to see what one of the larger challenges for the show will be: Trying to make a show with so many different stories happening at one time work.

One thing that stands out right now is that they have an impressive cast aboard here, which includes such familiar faces as JoAnna Garcia Swisher (“Once Upon a Time”), Yvonne Strahovski (“Chuck”), and Wilson Bethel (“Hart of Dixie”). It feels like a good companion to “Mistresses” on the night, though of course there is more of a historical vantage point present here.
