‘The Bachelorette’ spoilers: Shawn Booth, Kaitlyn Bristowe argue over Nick Viall’s return

If Kaitlyn Bristowe wanted to have a bunch of guys on “The Bachelorette” this season with a backbone, she has to be feeling pretty good about it! However, she probably did not want said backbone to manifest itself in some of the ways that it is, including a tense confrontation involving herself and Shawn Booth, which you can see in the video below (courtesy of People Magazine).

The contents of this sneak peek relate back to Nick Viall joining the competition, and it was also teased recently by the episode’s synopsis: “A special one-on-one date takes the Bachelorette and her date kayaking along the famed River Walk, but the night portion of their romantic tryst turns very emotional.”

Are we bummed out that Kaitlyn is about to cry over what Shawn is saying to him? Sure, since we don’t really feel like watching someone going through emotional pain is great television. (Silly drama, however, is!) The problem here is that Shawn’s not really saying anything that is wrong in the situation. He was given the impression that he was a favorite, and yet she decided to bring someone else into the equation, and someone he feels immediately threatened about mostly because of the immediate connection he has with her. Of course, he is going to wonder if something is wrong with him, and if he is just along for the ride.

While there’s nothing in this preview that makes us think that Shawn is about to leave, this is the sort of thing that could doom them in the long run if the two are not able to come to some sort of understanding.
