‘The Fosters’ season 3 spoilers: Are Lena and Stef in trouble?

With the season 3 premiere of “The Fosters” coming up on Monday night, now is clearly the time for all sorts of scoop related to the show! This new season is hopefully going to be an opportunity to uncover a variety of different story threads, with one of the most interesting ones being just what the future holds for Lena and Stef after what happened with Monte. There is obviously a huge relationship component with this since Monte has come in between a relationship, but at the same time, there is also a huge professional component to this, as well. Could what happen here actually end up making a huge, negative imprint on Lena’s work life? This is something that you have to wonder about.

Of course, we’re not going to be getting any definitive scoop one way or another right now leading into the show’s premiere, but executive producer Joanna Johnson does lay a whole lot of the story out for the two of them in a chat with The Hollywood Reporter:

“That’s going to be a big part of Lena and Stef’s relationship in this next season. One of the things we want to explore is do you tell your spouse everything that ever happens? Obviously, Lena didn’t kiss Monte. Monte kissed her. I think that Lena struggles. She’s thinking, do I tell my wife what happened and then she’s very uncomfortable because I’m working with this person? Am I going to be uncomfortable working with this person? Certainly, Lena’s not looking to have an affair. When you have so many children, it’s very stressful on any marriage and it’s hard for them to make their relationship a priority when kids have needs. Stef and Lena handle things very differently. There have been issues about Stef being secretive and that bothers Lena. Now Lena’s in the position with a secret as well. But they’re definitely having challenges in their marriage and trying to work through it.”
