‘Pretty Little Liars’ season 6 shifting format, will not have Halloween or Christmas Special
Fans of “Pretty Little Liars,” be prepared for a little bit of a change when it comes to how the ABC Family series decides to serve up episodes this season. You may have heard already that season 6 is reportedly operating under a shorter episode order than many of the ones that came before it. This time around, there are only 20 episodes, with ten airing in the fall and ten airing in the spring. We see this very much as a case of good news and bad news.
The good news is that this keeps the cast and crew hopefully from being as exhausted as they have been in previous years, and it may also keep there from being so many filler storylines that start up on the show, but then really do not go anywhere at all. Take, for example, the “one of our parents may not be up to anything good” story. On the flip side, the bad news here is that if you do like getting 24-25 episodes of the show a year, this means that you’re going to have roughly a month more time where there is not new weekly episodes on the air.
Oh, and there is also not a Halloween or Christmas Special coming up, either. According to a new report from Bustle, there will not be any additional episode that airs outside of the traditional season. This is something that had become somewhat of a tradition, where we would at least get one episode coming up in the fall / early winter before the show returned in January. This time, the shorter order means that the network / producers want to save their episodes for the bulk of the season.
“Pretty Little Liars” season 6 premiered this past week, and it did so with some of its lowest ratings to date.
